Piet Hein Super Ellipse Chair - Wooden Seat
The Piet Hein Chair was designed in 1968 by Piet Hein based on his Super-ellipse which he originally invented as a new shape to a roundabout at Sergels Torg in Stockholm in 1959. Later, in 1968, he used this new oval shape to design both the Super-ellipse table but also this previously unforgotten Super-ellipse chair that he orignially designed to complement the table and which has never been in production before now. The Super-ellipse shape that forms both the seat and back of the Piet Hein chair gives the chair a high degree of comfort and elegancy in combination with the slim and stackable steel frame.
