Niels Hvass is a famous and award winning Danish designer who graduated from the Danish school of Design in 1987, specializing in furniture design. He later went on to contribute back to the Danish school of Design as a designer, professor, and board member, as well as founded his own design studio along with fellow alumni and designer, Christina Strand, in 2008 based in Copenhagen called Strand + Hvass. He is known for his ingenious use of materials, as well as focusing his designs around being clear, precise, and timeless. Hvass has received many awards such as the Red Dot and Georg Jensen Awards, and his work has been displayed in museum exhibits around the world.
