The Silk Lantern by Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen is a refined lighting family in silk, wood, and metal. Designed in 1951 but never put into production, it brings together Japanese-inspired lightness and Danish modern clarity in a soft, atmospheric glow. Conceived across floor, pendant, and wall versions, each design carries the cylindrical shade and material logic through its own scale. The natural silk shade diffuses the light into an intimate gradient of brightness and shadow, while walnut veneer rings frame the textile from above and below, and the blackened stainless-steel structure gives the lamp definition and a floating appearance. Brought into production by GUBI for the very first time, the Silk Lantern brings a rarely seen Larsen and Bender Madsen design into contemporary interiors.
