Poul Henningsen designed the Snowball Pendant in 1924, and many consider it to be a smaller version of the PH Louvre he made for the Adventist Church in Skodsborg, Denmark. Henninsen's inspiration was the quality of light he'd experienced from petroleum lanterns, which lined the streets of the small Danish town he grew up in.
