Cite Lounge Chair
Jean Prouve for Vitra
Designed for a competition to furnish the student residence halls at the Cité Universitaire in Nancy, the Cité armchair is one of Jean Prouvé's early masterpieces. Prouvé himself used this dynamic looking armchair with distinctive runners made of powder-coated sheet steel and broad leather belts for armrests in the living room of his own home. Generous dimensions and inviting upholstery contribute to the great comfort of Cité.
33.0 h x 26.75 w x 37.5 d x Seat width: 22.5 in
Cover: seat and back in one piece. Cover in black or beige fabric, or nero leather. Upholstery: height-adjustable neck support cushion made of polyurethane foam, covered. Base: molded sheet steel, powder-coated in black, red or cream.
To care for cover fabrics, simply hoover dust and lint regularly using an upholstery nozzle. Stain removal: Fresh stains can usually be removed quickly by wiping immediately with an absorbent, lint-free sponge or cloth. Under no circumstances should cover fabric surfaces be rubbed vigorously. Leather furniture should not be exposed to direct sunlight and should be kept some distance away from sources of heat. Superficial dirt can be removed with a damp cloth as long as care is taken not to wet the leather and not to apply direct pressure. You should also avoid rubbing too hard. For cleaning use a special leather cleaner in foam or liquid form.
